Abbotsford Police nab 39-year-old man found with imitation firearm, knife

Police recommend a pair of weapons charges after arrest on Monday

The Abbotsford Police Department is requesting weapons charges for a 39-year-old man found with an imitation firearm and a knife on Monday afternoon (Nov. 6).

Just before 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious man with a firearm inside a retail store in the 1800 block of Vedder Way in Abbotsford.

APD officers found the man and took him into custody. In a search of the man following the arrest, police discovered a realistic imitation firearm along with a knife.

Police are requesting charges of one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of carrying a concealed weapon. The man was taken to jail.
