Rare funnel clouds were spotted in the sky over Abbotsford as a result of a thunderstorm on Saturday (June 15).
Funnel clouds are made of condensed water droplets and are sometimes a visual precursor to tornadoes.
Tornadoes are extremely rare in B.C., hence why the site of a funnel cloud is also extremely uncommon.
Despite wind, heavy rain and hail across the Greater Vancouver area, the funnel cloud in Abbotsford was the only one reported in the province according to Environment Canada.
