An Abbotsford author has won three first-place awards from a national association, The Word Guild.

John Redekop was among the winners in more than 40 categories and genres, including books, articles, novellas, short stories, song lyrics and more. He was the only author to win three first-place awards.

The three categories and winning entries were:

• personal opinion – Is this God's Judgment?

• single column – The Big Gender Lie

• short feature – A Bigger Challenge

The three winning entries appeared in the Garden Park Tower Newsletter published by the Clearbrook Golden Age Society. The articles can be read at the Clearbrook Golden Age Society website at gardenparktower.ca/reports.

They were published in February, June and July 2023.

Redekop also won three first-place awards last year.

The Word Guild’s annual awards honour Canadian writers who are Christian.
