The annual Mother’s Day breakfast takes place Sunday, May 13 at Jubilee Hall, 7999 Bradner Rd., from 8 a.m. to noon.

The buffet-style meal costs $6 (free for kids under six) and includes scrambled eggs, sausages, all-you-can-eat pancakes, and beverages. Info: 604-856-4375

GARAGE SALE

A plant, baking and garage sale takes place Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Memorial United Church (33737 George Ferguson Way) to coincide with the season opening of the outdoor farmers’ market in downtown Abbotsford.

 

PLaNT SALE

The Mt. Lehman Garden Club hosts a plant sale on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to noon in the  courtyard of the Mt. Lehman Credit Union, 5889 Mt. Lehman Rd. A special this year is heritage tomatoes.

 

STRAITON DANCE

A dance to raise funds for scholarships is held Saturday, May 12 at Straiton Community Hall, 4698 Sumas Mt. Rd., starting at 7 p.m. Live music is by the band No Code Blue. Tickets are available at Big Foot Moccasin or by calling 604-852-4278.

 

PROBUS CLUB

“A Baltic Adventure” will be the presentation at the Probus Club of Abbotsford on Monday, May 14 at 9 a.m. at the Best Western Regency Inn, 32110 Marshall Rd. The group is open to retired or nearly retired professional and business people.

 

CULTURE CLUB

NETWORK NEWS

The Abbotsford chapter of the Valley Women’s Network meets Tuesday, May 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Rd. Elections will be held. Cost is $20 for members and $22 for guests.
