The Royal Canadian Family Circus is set to present shows in Abbotsford from Friday to Monday, and they officially set up the big top on Tuesday afternoon.

Crews arrived early on Tuesday in the southwest corner parking lot at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre and had completed the task by 2:30 p.m.

Acts performing at the circus include the Guerrero High Wire Duo from Spain, the Motor Cycle Aerial Cyclone, the Acrobatic Aerial Strap and Silk Act, acrobats, the hula hoop maze, aerialists, the TZ Motorcycle Wheel of Destiny, clowns and much more.

No exotic animals are included.

“It’s an incredible showcase of elite circus acts from all around the world that has been designed for multi-generational families,” says ringmaster Joseph Bauer, a ninth-generation circus performer.

“It’s the essence of a traditional circus, and this year the amazing global cast of performers have been getting standing ovations, including the incredible Duo Guerroro high wire, who were featured on America’s Got Talent.”

Bauer said the Royal Canadian Family Circus is about giving children and adults alike a glimpse into a traditional world; a world where “families are performing for families.”

The Abbotsford shows take place under the big top in the parking lot at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.

Showtimes are:

– 4 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19;

– noon, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21; and

– 1 and 5 p.m. on Monday, May 22.

General admission tickets are $25 (two for the price of one for online orders using the code SEVENOAKS).

Children three and under are free, as long they don’t occupy a seat.
