Chilliwack and Popkum firefighters have been dispatched to Highway 1 near Herrling Island by Popkum-Rosedale.
B.C. Emergency Health Service described the incident as "a significant police event" and have advised firefighters to avoid the area. Weapons are possibly involved.
Scanner traffic indicates a single vehicle struck the guard rail and went into the ditch near the "s-curve," an area of the highway known to be a common site for crashes.
