As the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) continues to investigate the death of a 33-year-old Seabird Island (Sq’éwqel) woman, they have renewed their request for more information from the public.

On April 6, the Agassiz RCMP were called to a Seabird Island residence where 33-year-old Vanessa Terry was located deceased. After consulting with the B.C. Coroners Service, IHIT considered Terry's death suspicious, and they are investigating along with the Agassiz RCMP.

IHIT cannot release Terry's cause of death to protect the integrity of the investigation.

The Sq’éwqel community's Facebook page posted a notice on Monday (July 8) urging community members who may have information on Terry's death to speak to police.

"IHIT investigators believe there are still people out there that have information about this tragedy, that have yet to speak with the police," IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Timothy Pierotti told The Observer. "IHIT is asking anyone with information to contact the IHIT information line at 1- 877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca."

Those with information about the incident may also contact the Agassiz RCMP at 604-796-2211.
