Two commercial trucks were involved in an incident on Highway 1 through Chilliwack Feb. 14.

A gravel truck crashed into the centre median and cable barrier on Highway 1 through Chilliwack, shortly after 3 p.m. on Feb. 14.

Early reports indicated that a commercial truck blew a tire, and the gravel truck driver swerved to avoid it. The gravel truck ended up in the median, facing the wrong way. The cable barrier was also damaged in the crash.

The crash took place in the westbound lanes of Highway 1, near the Lickman Road exit. The gravel truck ended up in the eastbound median, completely off the highway.

There was also reported to be about 50 gallons of diesel over a 100 foot stretch from the gravel truck.

Traffic in the area came to a complete stop in both directions.
