Last Laffs Comedy and Open Space present a comedy show at Abbotsford’s newest venue on Valentine’s Day.

The show on Feb. 14 at Open Space – the former location of Hemingway’s Books and Records at 33765 Essendene Ave. – is hosted by comedian and actor Alex Svarez, co-founder of Last Laffs.

Svarez is known for his appearances on various podcasts and his regular performances at comedy shows and open mics throughout the Lower Mainland.

The show also features opener Jackie Amsden, featured guest Rory Dunn and headliner Jessica Pigeau.

Open Space is the newest addition to the historic downtown core and supports the arts and business communities under one roof.

The 1,500-square-foot space offers a venue for curated artists’ exhibits and workshops, micro-events, small business support programs, and vendor space for local entrepreneurs and artisans.

The Valentine’s Day comedy show is among the first in a series of events at the site.

“Open Space is the perfect venue to create memorable experiences for the community,” Svarez said.

There are two show times for the event: 6 and 8 p.m. Admission is $25, which includes a drink valued at up to $10. Tickets can be purchased online at eventbrite.com or at the door.
