Trio of exhibits to open at the Reach

The Navy: A Century of Art, a travelling exhibition produced by the Canadian War Museum,

The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford presents three memorable and moving exhibitions for the fall of 2013.

In The Great Hall it is presenting, The Navy: A Century of Art, a travelling exhibition produced by the Canadian War Museum, and Abbotsford:  A Community at War, which tells the stories of local veterans and how Abbotsfordians were affected by the challenges of wartime.

In The Grotto and South Galleries, the show Flight Worthy by Vancouver artist Virginia Ivanicki will be shown. All three exhibitions will be on display until Jan. 5.

Also at the Reach on Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m., Dr. Laura Brandon, acting director of research at the  Canadian War Museum will open The Navy: A Century in Art show.

The following day, at noon, there will be a free tour of The Navy:  A Century in Art, led by  Brandon.

On Sept. 28 at 12:30 p.m. a free tour of the Flight Worthy exhibit will take place, led by artist Virginia Ivanicki.

Also on Sept. 28, from noon to 3 p.m., the Reach will host free family activities relating to the exhibition themes.
