The Reach Gallery Museum (32388 Veterans Way) offers two workshops this month for kids ages six to 12.

The first is a printmaking workshop on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 1 to 2 p.m., led by Edith Krause, artist of the exhibition Adrift in the Same Pond.

The fee is $10 per child, including all supplies for the take-home print.

“Since Krause’s exhibition features life-sized woodcut prints of human swimmers and gigantic plankton, the workshop participants will get the chance to use both artistic and scientific skills to make their very own prints about the wonders of the microscopic world,” says Anna Williams, education programmer at The Reach.

The second workshop is held on Friday, Feb. 19 – a professional development day in the Abbotsford school district – and is titled Learn to Paint like Emily Carr.

Cost is $25 for a half-day session (9 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m.) or $45 for a full day.

Registration is required for the workshops and can be done in person, online at thereach.ca/events-programs or by phone at 604-864-8087 (ext. 0).
