Terri Clark brings country classics to AESC

The Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre will present Terri Clark on March 8.

Canadian country sensation Terri Clark will bring her “Classics” tour to Abbotsford on March 8.

With more than four million albums sold and a dozen top-10 hits to her credit, Clark has emerged as a singular voice on the country music landscape.

The Alberta native is an eight-time, fan-voted Canadian Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year and multiple Juno winner.

Since she exploded onto the country music scene in the mid-1990s with her own unique style (heralded as “turbo traditional”) she has had a massive success record including hits like Better Things To Do and When Boy Meets Girl.

Classic is the latest recording in a period of heightened activity.

In 2009, Clark released Long Way Home, which produced a number of hit singles at country radio including the foot stomping Gypsy Boots and If You Want Fire.

You Tell Me, a heart wrenching duet with Johnny Reid, and A Million Ways to Run were also big hits climbing well inside the top 20.

Then, in 2011, Clark released Roots and Wings which won a Juno Award for Country Recording of the Year and scored three top-10 hits including Northern Girl, The One and the cover of Trooper’s classic rock smash We’re Here For A Good Time.

Now, with Classic, Clark has put together an album of her favourite country classic songs and invited a bunch of her musical friends along for the ride.

Friends like Reba, Dierks Bentley, Jann Arden and Dean Brody can be heard on the album.

Clark will be performing at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre on March 8 at 7:30 p.m. Opening for her is special guest Kira Isabella.

Tickets will go on sale on Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. They are available online at abbotsfordcentre.ca or at the  AESC Box Office, the Abbotsford and Matsqui recreation centres or Whatcom Wine & Spirits. Tickets can also be order by phone at  1-866-977-2372.
