Sportfishing show based in Mission

Local company Mountain View Productions has launched a new TV program.

Mission’s Mountain View Productions has launched a new sportfishing program.

The new series Sportfishing Adventures made its premiere last Sunday, while BC Outdoors Sport Fishing, also based in Mission, has begun its third season.

Both programs are produced out of the new Mission-based home of Mountain View Productions, under the umbrella of BC Outdoors Magazine, an outdoorsmen’s staple for more than 65 years.

“Our new Mission home has brought us closer to our readers and viewers and we’re really excited to share these exciting shows with them,” said executive producer and host Mike Mitchell.

The programs include hosts such as NHL’s Brendan Morrison, former CFL player-turned-sportscaster Chris Burns and fishing celebrity Brian Chan. Mitchell also serves as editor of BC Outdoors.

BC Outdoors Sport Fishing is a how-to for the average angler and shares all the secrets of the province’s best fishing holes. The season premiere features a release of the host’s biggest rainbow trout to date on Shuswap Lake.

Sportfishing Adventures takes viewers on lodge or resort-based travel throughout Western Canada and features sturgeon fishing right in Mission. The series premiere covers salmon fishing in the North Central Coast.

You can catch the show on CHEK on Sundays at noon, WildTV, WFN, or other regional networks.
