Tomorrow (Saturday), Victoria Bonar will don costumes for her roles of party adult, snowflake, flower, Spanish dancer, and solo performance of Rose, in the Royal City Youth Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker.
With the company for over eight years, Bonar is excited to take to the stage at the Abbotsford Arts Centre, at 2329 Crescent Way.
It is a moment that most dancers long for but are often unable to achieve.
The RCYB company was created to bridge the gap between dance schools and professional companies, allowing dancers to perform at a high level with elaborate outfits, sets and lighting.
Bonar currently teaches at Xtreme Talent and studies ballet at the Lower Mainland Academy of Classical Ballet.
The Nutcracker features characters such as the magical soldiers, sugar plum fairy and an army of mice. There may even be a growing Christmas tree.
The show plays on Nov, 26, with its only performance at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Act Theatre in Maple Ridge, 11944 Haney Place, online at www.theactmapleridge.org, or by phone 604-476-2787. Tickets will also be available before the show at the door.
