The Reach Gallery Museum holds its first ever Cultural Exchange: A Curated Second-Hand Market on Saturday, July 22.

The market runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Thunderbird Plaza, adjacent to The Reach Gallery Museum parking lot.

The Reach is partnering with the Abbotsford Arts Council (including Fraser Valley Stage), Abbotsford Children’s Theatre, Clearbrook Library and Heritage Abbotsford to host this outdoor summer market to raise funds for public programming for their respective groups.

“When you shop at this upscale market of gently used goods and collectibles, think of a colourful and fun vintage boutique experience with amazing bargains,” said Laura Schneider, executive director of The Reach.

The market tables under outdoor tents will include donated art, books, games, puzzles, theatre props and costumes, accessories, jackets, sweaters, home décor items, collectibles, and, no doubt, some unexpected treasures.

Across the garden grounds from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., the Clearbrook Library offers free ice cream and popsicles, outside games and facepainting while the Chilliwack Harmony Chorus performs songs from yesteryear. Bring your blanket or lawn chair.

Admission to the market is free and all sales will be cash only. Visit thereach.ca for more details.
