NYTC Block Party at Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford

The Reach Gallery Museum and Black Connections host the NYTC (Not Your Typical Canadian) Block Party on Saturday, Feb. 17.

The free event runs from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Reach, 32388 Veterans Way.

The party features performances from artists near and far, showcasing aspects of black culture through lyricism, choreography, visual arts, and more.

Performers include Chill Rose Place, Taylor Lundberg, Jordan Blackman, Saint Soldier and KliQ dance crew.

Also taking the stage are UBC’s hip-hop and afro-beat specialists Sinbirds and a fresh women’s freestyle collective, Raw SpeakHers.

Fashionista Gratie Fugar showcases her colorful head-turning fashion line, Victoria Fashion, while Jonathan Loewen shows looks from MYBRUTHASCLOSET.

The NYTC Block Party also includes African and Caribbean cuisine.
