Nominations are now being accepted for the Abbotsford Arts Council’s annual Arty Awards.

The awards celebrate and highlight the achievements and contributions of local artists in the community.

The 13th annual celebration takes place Saturday, Sept. 30 at The Reach Gallery Museum.

This year’s awards categories have been re-designed to include a wider representation and more fully reflect the current arts community as a whole.

Awards will be presented in the categories of: Performing Arts, Lifestyle, Media Arts, Youth Achievement, Literary Arts, Arts Advocate, Visual Arts, Emerging Artist, and Lifetime Achievement.

In addition, Harry Doupe has been added to the team as Arty Awards co-ordinator.

He is a writer and producer with more than two decades of awards-show experience at the national and international level, including numerous Juno, Gemini, NHL, and Canadian Comedy Awards events.

Entries can be submitted by someone in the arts community, a friend, or by the artist or group themselves, and will be accepted until June 23.

Nomination forms are available online at abbotsfordartscouncil.com or at the Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.).
