Shane Bunting, better known as MadChild from the Vancouver hip-hop group Swollen Members, brings his new solo tour to Abbotsford on Feb. 25.
Over the past few years, the rapper has battled a severe prescription drug addiction to OxyContin, and rumours of gang affiliation with the Hells Angels. He was recently banned from the United States due to his past troubles.
Now clean and sober, MadChild has teamed up with his DJ from Swollen Members, Rob the Viking, to make his first solo EP M.A.D.E., which is due out early this year, along with his album DopeSick, inspired by his battles with drug addiction.
The MadChild is Back, More Brash and Vicious tour kicks off on Feb. 22 in Kamloops. He stops by Wigley's Bar and Grill in Abbotsford on Feb. 25 at 9:30 p.m.
