Joe Nichols added to Rockin’ River Festival line up

Nichols, whose song Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off was an international hit, will play in Mission next summer.

Mission’s Rockin’ River Music Festival, has announced  that country star Joe Nichols will be one of the three-day celebration’s top acts next summer.

Nichols, whose song Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off was an international hit, will join Big ‘n’ Rich — whose Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy was also an international hit — for the 2013 festival set for Aug. 15-17.

“We’re excited to add Joe Nichols and his brand of country to the fifth annual Rockin’ River festival,” concert organizer Kenny Hess said.

“Nichols brings a different musical flavour to Rockin’ River than Big ‘n’ Rich, so he adds another dimension to our growing event.”

The festival takes place over three evenings, Thursday through Saturday, in mid-August, at Mission Raceway Park (32670 Dyke Rd., Mission) and will feature headline acts along with some of B.C.’s and Canada’s best country talent.

The rest of the 2013 lineup will be announced in the months to come.

“Rockin’ River Music Festival continues to become more and more popular each year. We’re aiming for even more growth this year,” said Hess.

Early bird tickets and reservations are now available at rockinriver.com or at Lower Mainland London Drugs outlet.
