A concert on Friday, April 27 in Abbotsford will raise money to send kids to summer camp.
The concert takes place at 7:00 p.m. at Sevenoaks Alliance Church (2575 Gladwin Rd.) and features gospel groups from the Canada and U.S., as well as some local musicians.
Admission is free but donations will be accepted to send kids to Camp Kawkawa, located on Lake Kawkawa near Hope.
This is a well-established Christian summer camping program for kids and families that includes water sports, archery, hiking, games, campfires and great food.
Many families don’t have the $400 needed to send their kids to the camp. The concert will raise scholarship funds to send Fraser Valley kids who otherwise could not otherwise afford to attend Camp Kawkawa.
Last year, the concert raised enough money to send more than 60 children.
