Gladwin Heights Church in Abbotsford hosts fall fair

This year features African band Shirika

Gladwin Heights Church hosts its annual fall fair this Saturday, Sept. 23, but this year includes something different.

The event features a performance by Abbotsford Christian African band Shirika.

Shirika is Swahili for “fellowship.” The group has shared its unique musical stylings with local churches and groups, singing in many of the languages of East Africa.

The fall fair features baked goods, vintage items, jewelry, used books, collectibles and more.

Pie, tea and barbecued hot dogs and burgers will be available for purchase.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 3474 Gladwin Rd.
