Gallery 7 Theatre holds open auditions on Thursday, March 16 for Enchanted April, the last production of its 2016/17 season.
The audition is open to those ages 18 to 75 and takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the theatre’s rehearsal hall, #100 – 34595 Third Ave. in Abbotsford.
Set in 1922, two frustrated English housewives decide to rent a villa in Italy to escape their bleak, predictable lives and recruit two very different English women to share in the cost and experience.
Among the wisteria blossoms and gorgeous Mediterranean sunshine, all four begin to re-discover themselves in ways they didn’t expect, and gain new perspective on what’s most important in their lives.
Enchanted April will be directed by Trinity Western University professor Kate Muchmore Woo.
Woo is a director with credits from around the U.S. and B.C., including The Women of Lockerbie (Lock and Key Theatre), Twelfth Night for TWU SAMC Theatre and Crime and Punishment for Pacific Theatre/Stone’s Throw Productions.
Kate has a master of fine arts in directing from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
Enchanted April will run May 19 and 20 and 24-27 at 7:30 p.m. with discount matinees on May 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way.
