Gallery 7 Theatre hosts the final workshop of its 2016/17 Theatre Bootcamp Series, starting Tuesday, March 28.

The workshop, titled Vocal Performance for Actors, is led by award-winning professional actor Erla Faye Forsythe.

It runs for three consecutive Tuesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. at the theatre’s rehearsal hall, #100 - 34595 Third Ave. in Abbotsford.

“This workshop is probably the most important course in our series this year,” says Ken Hildebrandt, Gallery 7 Theatre artistic director.

“The voice is the actor’s primary tool for communicating character and dialogue so it goes without saying that this tool should be kept sharp.”

Vocal Performance for Actors will help emerging and established performers develop more advanced skills in vocal production as they pertain to breath support, diction, projection, voice care and preparing for a performance.

Understanding the psychological and emotional relationship with voice will also be explored.

Forsyth is a graduate of Studio 58, and has performed in numerous productions over the years at Pacific Theatre in Vancouver, including The Foreigner and How to Write a New Book for the Bible, for which she received Jessie Richardson awards.

Other credits include It's a Wonderful Life for the Arts Club and Since You Left Us for Presentation House Theatre.

Cost of the workshop is $125. For more information or to register, call 604-504-5940 or visit gallery7theatre.com.
