Fraser Valley Stage presents Forbidden Broadway at the Clarke Theatre from Feb. 25-28.

Fraser Valley Stage presents “Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits” starting Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Clarke Theatre (33700 Prentis Ave. in Mission).

Forbidden Broadway puts a spin on Broadway musicals with only a piano, 28 cast members and a stash of wigs, costumes and props.

The performers, who have been in rehearsals since September, will be kept extremely busy changing characters and costumes at lightning speed.

Written and created by Gerard Alessandrini, Forbidden Broadway has been staged around the world since 1982 and has been revised to keep pace with the Broadway shows that have come along during that time.

The show features music from shows such as Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Spamalot and Rent.

The show also spoofs the likes of Carol Channing, Liza Minelli, Harvey Fierstein, Rita Moreno and Chita Rivera.

The performance runs Feb. 25 to 28 at 7:30 p.m., with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors and youth, and $15 for children 15 and under.
