Luis Mario Ochoa’s Cuban Quintet comes to Mission in January.

If you want to experience a touch of Cuban heat, then check out Luis Mario Ochoa’s Cuban Quintet on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Mission’s Clarke Foundation Theatre.

A nominee for National Jazz Awards and Latin Jazz Artist of the Year (2007), Ochoa is a second generation singer, guitarist and composer graduating from the prestigious University of Havana’s Institute Superior of Arts.  He has played jazz festivals in Montreal, Halifax, Markham, St. John’s, Vancouver, Victoria, Oshawa and Toronto.

His music has been featured on TV series including Traders and The Associates, as well as Brave New Girl and Bailey’s Billions.

From the sensual and romantic rumba, bolero and waltz to the lively and driving samba, salsa and cha cha, Ochoa brings Cuba home.

The Jan. 27 show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Clarke theatre (33700 Prentis Ave. in Mission). Tickets are  available at all Ticketmaster locations or by calling 1-885-985-5000.
