The entry deadline for the 16th annual Kiwanis Fraser Valley International Music Festival and the fifth annual Kiwanis Fraser Valley Speech and Drama Festival is Feb. 9.
The international music festival takes place from April 7 to May 21 in Langley, South Surrey and Abbotsford while the speech and drama festival will be held April 23 to 25 in South Surrey.
Open to all levels and ages, the festivals offer classes for students of piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, voice, Chinese instruments, harp, dramatic arts and public speaking. Sessions and workshops for young composers, chamber ensembles, choirs, orchestras, jazz and concert bands and vocal jazz groups are also available. Participants can receive the benefit of expert criticism from unbiased adjudicators and gain self-confidence by performing before an audience.
