Concert in Abbotsford raises funds for Nepal

The performance takes place Sunday, May 17 at Emmanuel Church

A concert on Sunday, May 17 in Abbotsford raises money to support the relief efforts in Nepal following the recent earthquake.

The concert begins at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Mennonite Church (3471 Clearbrook Rd.) and features violinist Calvin Dyck, pianist Betty Suderman and special guests.

Local pastors will discuss efforts being made to get aid to remote villages that were at the epicentre of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25.

Vanj Thiessen, former missionary to Nepal, will give a PowerPoint presentation, and a free-will offering will be taken.

Expenses for the concert are covered by sponsorship, and all donations will go directly to Nepal.
