Comedian Ron James stops in Abbotsford and Mission in June as part of a five-date spring tour of B.C.
James performs his "Not Nearly Done Yet!" show on June 4 at Mission's Clarke Theatre and June 5 at the Abbotsford Arts Centre, presented by Shantero Productions. Both shows start at 7 p.m.
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, and now a newly minted senior citizen, James has spent more than 25 years "barrelling down endless strips of asphalt from coast to coast," a web bio boasts.
James wrote about his life and comedy adventures in a 2022 book called All Over the Map, subtitled "Rambles and Ruminations from the Canadian Road." On television, his one-hour comedy specials on CBC have been a New Year's Eve tradition for fans.
Prior to his success as a comedian, James spent 10 years with Second City, eventually appearing in feature films, sitcoms and national commercials, earning a Genie Award nomination (Best Supporting Actor) for work in the 1988 film Something About Love.
His X account bio describes James as "a comedian doing my best to make sense of the chaos in the daily march through life's bright fury."
James toured Ontario in May, and his other B.C. shows are in Sidney on June 2, Surrey on June 3 and Kamloops on June 9. Visit ronjames.ca for more information.
Tickets for all shows are $78.75, all in. For the Mission show, visit vtixonline.com or call 888-961-6111. For the Abbotsford show, visit chilliwackculturalcentre.ca or call 604-391-7469.
