Ruzz "Guitar" Evans is promoting his new album with an Abbotsford concert on June 21.

It's been a little while since Ruzz "Guitar" Evans graced an Abbotsford stage, but the "Pistol from Bristol" is once again bringing back his unique blend of blues and rockabilly creations later this month.

Promoting his new album "Between Two Worlds", which was released on May 8, Evans is looking to entertain local audiences by kicking off his new Canadian tour in Abbotsford.

Evans explained that it was during his previous North American tour in 2023 and 2024 that he developed close connections with some of the musicians whom he's included on this latest album.

There are even some B.C. residents included, with Vancouver vocalists Juhli Conlinn and Shannon Scott first being introduced to Evans during a Port Moody concert in May 2024.

"I had two fantastic singers joining for the first time, so as soon as we finished the gig, I was like 'We need to connect online. I'm going to send you some stuff because I'm working on this album that I think you guys would sound fantastic on.' So I knew the musicians I wanted as the core band," Evans said.

With the help of Conlinn, Scott, fellow Vancouverite Paul Pigat, and other renowned musicians, Evans put together a project that he said is a departure from his previous collaborative albums.

"I didn't want to throw out the same big band album again," he said. "On this one, I wanted to have a lot more focus on the guitar stuff, push myself more vocally, and bring in some more of the rockabilly influences that people keep asking me for."

Locals will have a chance to hear some of this new sound live in Abbotsford on June 21, as Evans joins the Fraser Valley Blues Society at the Eagles Hall.

According to the Fraser Valley Blues Society, this venue will provide an intimate concert experience, with attendees even having the opportunity to talk directly to Evans.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with more information available at www.fraservalleybluessociety.com.
