The Beatles, Rod Stewart and Elton John are performing in Mission.
Well – their tribute acts are.
Atlantic Crossing presents The Best in British Music at the Clarke Foundation Theatre in Mission, on Saturday, April 2.
The acts, backed with live music, will be performing each icon’s most popular hits.
The Beatles’ song list includes tracks like All My Loving, Hard Day’s Night and Can’t Buy Me Love.
The Rod Stewart segment will cover classics live Forever Young, Have I Told You Lately and Hot Legs.
And when Elton John’s act takes the stage, he’ll be singing Crocodile Rock, Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting) and Tiny Dancer.
The Vancouver group consists of Marc LaFrance, Mick Dalla Vee, Brent Howard and Ian Cameron.
Since forming 23 years ago, the band has worked on over 100 records, including Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Donna Summer and Prism.
They currently tour with Canadian group Bachman & Turner, which was recently inducted into the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame.
Making the transition to a tribute act was a natural progression said LaFrance, who plays The Beatles’ drummer, Ringo Starr.
The group would often play The Beatles cover songs at corporate events and private functions, and they were always well received.
Trying to improve the routine and keep it fresh, they decided to add costumes to the mix.
It’s a decision they’ve been happy with ever since.
“The Beatles have such an amazing body of work. They pretty much set the mark for everybody,” said LaFrance.
Singer Brent Howard’s voice is so similar to Rod Stewart’s that it simply made sense to add that portion to the show, said LaFrance.
“He sounds more like Rod than Rod does now,” he said.
The doubles for Elton John and George Harrison have also mastered the vocals and mannerisms of the rock legends.
The show starts at 8 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m. at the Clarke Theatre, 33700 Prentis Ave, Mission.
