A concert on Saturday, Feb. 27 will raise money for an Abbotsford family of a six-year-old girl who is battling bone cancer.

The concert features Randy “Elvis” Friskie, Cassandra Friskie and the Extraordinaires. It takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium.

All proceeds go to support Greta Loewen, 6, who was diagnosed more than a year ago with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

She has since had ongoing treatment at BC Children’s Hospital and also travelled to Boston, where she received a type of radiation treatment not available in Canada, and to Toronto.

Fundraisers throughout 2015 – including a bottle drive, a craft fair, an art auction and a book drive – have helped cover expenses such as medication, travel, meals and living costs, as mom Heather and dad Tim stay by Greta’s side.

Tickets are $30 and are available at HOFA Art Supplies and Framing, King’s Music and House of James.
