A group of b-boys is trying to bring hip hop back to the Fraser Valley with two upcoming shows.
This weekend the Floorplay B-boy Crew is putting on a break dance show and demonstration for all ages called Radically Free B-boy Demo.
It’s happening on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 3:30 p.m. in Centennial Park at Mill Lake, 2310 Emerson St.
The next show, Radically Free Presents Technique Warz, is on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Ag-Rec Building, 32470 Haida Dr.
Doors open at noon, with the preliminary rounds beginning at 1:30 p.m. The opening ceremonies and finals begin at 5 p.m.
Together since 2002, the group is looking for the support of locals to bring popularity to the dance style.
The first show will allow attendants to watch demonstrations and even learn a few tricks.
Technique Warz will feature the best b-boy crews battling for the top awards.
The judge is Kareem Gwinn of Killafornia Crew, who is one of the top 16 breakdancers in the world.
