Arts council hosts gift fair and painting show

Eight-week artisan gift and small painting event runs from Oct. 29 to Dec. 21

The Abbotsford Arts Council is holding a Christmas Artisan Gift Fair and Small Painting Show from Oct. 29 to Dec. 21 at Kariton Art Gallery.

The fair provides a unique place to buy one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers, while supporting and recognizing local artists.

All gifts featured in the fair are original, locally made artwork including pottery, woven and painted scarves, jewelry, clothing, woodwork, sculpture, and more.

The Christmas showcase will also include a show featuring small paintings, prints and photo art by members of the Fraser Valley Watercolour Society, Central Fraser Valley Graphic Guild, and other local artists.

The artists will be present at the fair’s grand opening reception on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the gallery (2387 Ware St.) and on each Sunday at the same time for the duration of the show.

The show is open during the gallery’s regular hours – noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends.

Non-perishable food donations will be collected at the gallery on behalf of the Abbotsford Food Bank throughout the fair.
