Artists invited to submit work for Kariton Art Gallery

Submissions to be accepted by appointment from Nov. 5 to 9

The Abbotsford Arts Council has announced a call for artists living in the Fraser Valley to submit work to be featured in the Kariton Art Gallery Boutique Gift Shop in 2015.

Established in 2010, the Kariton Boutique Gift Shop is located in Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford and has become a hot spot for one-of-a-kind gifts and treasures made locally by professional and emerging artisans of all ages. It showcases original, handcrafted visual artwork in multiple media, such as jewelry, pottery, sculpture, woodwork, fibre-wearable items, paintings, and photography, as well as CDs and books by local musicians and writers, respectively.

Accepted artists will be featured in the Kariton Boutique from January to December in 2015.

Submissions will be accepted in-person by appointment from Nov. 5 to 9 at the Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.) in Abbotsford. All submissions will be juried.

Applications are available for download at abbotsfordartscouncil.org or at the Kariton Art Gallery, located at 2387 Ware St., open Tuesday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
