The nominees are in for the 2021 Fraser Valley Music Awards, with a total of 13 Abbotsford artists or groups receiving recognition.
The sixth annual event will announce the winners in the near future.
Fans are invited to vote in the Dakota Leslie Memorial fan vote to help an artist they love earn that honour.
In addition to the category awards and fan vote prize money, one artist will have their first professional recording funded to the tune of $3,500 by the Common Room Recording Grant as part of this year’s awards.
The FVMA’s featured 15 different categories representing a variety of genres of music.
Abbotsford-based artists up for awards include:
- T3, Cavasoul and DoddGod - Hip Hop (Fraser Valley East) artist of the year
- Aridonis and Loans - Alternative/Indie (band) artist of the year
- Mark Sullivan, KD Surreal and Ben Cottrill - Folk (Central Valley) artist of the year
- Michael Jantzen - Country/Roots artist of the year
- Neveranother - Loud artist of the year
- House of the Future and Kristin Witko - Pop artist of the year
- Jada Klein - RNB artist of the year
