Abbotsford Centre is among the venues across North America that are hosting an all-day live virtual comedy festival on their websites on Valentine’s Day.

The Saving Our Jobs Virtual Comedy Festival – presented by Stella Artois and locally presented by Star 98.3 and Country 107.1 – begins at noon and runs until approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14.

Professional comedians from the U.S. and Canada participating in the event include Adam Yenser, comedy writer for the Ellen DeGeneres Show; Alex Elkin, iTunes No. 6 comedian; Justin Rupple, 2019 Voice Arts Award winner; Ralph Porter, seen on BET’s One Mic Stand and touring with Bill Bellamy’s Ladies Night Out Tour; and Tashona Smith, who The New York Times called “charming, tantalizing, confusing.”

More professional comedians will be added between now and the event.

Each participating venue will also host a local comedy contest with the winner from each venue having a video clip posted on the comedy festival website. One national winner will be chosen to perform a live set during the festival.

Tickets are $25 to watch the show live on Feb. 14 or $45 to watch live and on demand for up to one year. They can be purchased by following the links on abbotsfordcentre.ca.

This is the first of many virtual events being hosted this year by Spectra, which operates Abbotsford Centre and dozens of other venues.
