A youth organization that has an Abbotsford location is one of four being supported by a month-long fundraiser hosted by the Joseph Richard Group (JRG).

JRG aims to raise $350,000 through an event called One Month In, which began Oct. 15 and runs until Nov. 15.

The event raises funds for Youth Unlimited (which has an Abbotsford location), Covenant House in Vancouver, City Dream Centre in Surrey and Variety the Children’s Charity.

The money will go towards dental care, medical care, shelter and food programs.

Normally every year, JRG asks its employees and the public to sleep outside for a single night to raise funds for vulnerable youth through an event called One Night Out.

But due to COVID-19 and restrictions on large gatherings, the company this year decided to switch to a month-long online and in-store campaign.

JRG is accepting donations online and in person in exchange for donors signing their names on a One Month In marker. JRG is also handing out $50 gift cards to anyone who makes a donation of $100 or more.

JRG locations in Abbotsford are Townhall Public House and S + L restaurant. Online donations can be made at onenightout.ca.

Youth Unlimited is a faith-based organization that supports vulnerable youth through programs such as drop-in centres, meals and emergency relief, clubs, leadership development and more.
