Yale Secondary’s fundraising efforts were recognized at Canuck Place’s annual “Magic in the Garden” event held in Vancouver at the end of June.

The event is held to recognize their supporters and to remind everyone why they do the work they do.

The Abbotsford-based school received the Change Champion Award for the support of Canuck Place in Abbotsford over the past couple of years, raising over $50,000 for the organization.

Most of the money raised was through their annual Live to Give event, which raised $26,000 this year alone.

Yale Grade 11 student Cameron Evans and Grade 12 student Hannah Bilinski accepted the award on behalf of Yale.

Other awards were presented to Telus, Canucks for Kids, BC Bakery and Deli Foundation, and John Nicola.
