Yale Secondary holds its annual Live to Give fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 23 at the school.

The event has more than 300 students and staff spending the night at the school participating in several fun activities.

Students raise money as their ticket into the event, with all proceeds going to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice in Abbotsford.

This event has raised over $130,000 for various global and community initiatives. Money has gone towards providing clean water in Kenya, building schools in Sierra Leone, improving health care in India, introducing self-sufficient sources of income for people of Ecuador and the last two years to Canuck Place.

The event is entirely planned and run by students as part of their student leadership project.

Last year, $26,500 was raised during the evening, and the students are hoping to equal that amount again this year.

Online donations can be made at yale.abbyschools.ca.
