Winners have been announced for the Fraser Valley Regional Heritage Fair held April 29 at the Air Cadet Building in Abbotsford.
More than 800 students in Grades 3 to 7 participated in a fair at their school, and 122 winners were invited to present their history projects at the regional event.
Five students will now be chosen to participate in the provincial competition held in Victoria in July. They have not yet been selected.
Abbotsford students who were among the regional winners were:
n Michael Papequash, James Sapeilak, Josh Appenheimer and Joshua Appenheimer of Dunach elementary;
n Caitlin Luu, Natalie Timmermans and Brynn Doelema of King Traditional;
n Ethan Kryska and Luthra Rishabjeet Singh of John Maclure;
n Kayla Ewert, Karn Sharma, Kezia Ewert, Kye Hollands-Clark, Samuel Martinez-Salazar and Navir Grewal of Dormick Park; and
n Brayden Baerg of North Poplar.
