The West Abbotsford Community School Society’s annual Walk/Run for Success will take place on Sunday, March 3 at Rotary Stadium and Discovery Trail in Abbotsford.

The two-, five- or 10-kilometre race kicks off at 10 a.m. Participants can either sign up individually or organize a team.

Schools involved are Dr. Roberta Bondar, Clearbrook, John Maclure, Ten-Broeck, Terry Fox Elementary, Colleen and Gordie Howe, Chief Dan George Middle School and Mouat Secondary School. Prizes will be given to the top fundraising individual, one male and one female; the top fundraising class; and the top school.

Funds raised through registrations will go to WACSS’s equipment, supplies and various programs. After last year’s event, WACSS sponsored one week of summer camp free to 10 Abbotsford families.

WACSS is a non-profit charity that supports learning opportunities for Abbotsford families. Its primary focus is promoting literacy skills, environmental awareness and funding local activities.
