The 10km Walk for Abilitas takes place in Abbotsford this Saturday, April 27 to raise money for the purchase of two overhead lifts at the Cold Water Ranch Respite Lodge.
The walkathon runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mill Lake Park and is being hosted by the Abilitas Foundation.
The foundation has built the Cold Water Ranch Respite Lounge in Merritt as a place for people with disabilities to get away for a holiday with their families free of charge.
The lifts that will be purchased with funds raised at the walk will be used for teens and adults who require assistance to be safely transferred to the toilet, bath and wheelchair.
