The Walk for Abilitas takes place in Abbotsford on Saturday, Sept. 20 to raise money for the Cold Water Ranch Lodge in Merritt.
The walk begins at 11 a.m. at Mill Lake Park and is being hosted by the MSA Society’s Family Support Group. This year’s fundraising goal is $14,000.
The Abbotsford-based Abilitas Foundation built the lodge as a place for people with disabilities to get away for a holiday with their families free of charge.
The first phase was completed in 2013, and families have begun enjoying the benefits of the lodge.
Funds are needed to complete construction, so that more families can be welcomed, and to maintain and operate the facility.
