Volunteers needed for Fraser Health Crisis Line

The line serves a region that includes Abbotsford.

Volunteers are currently being recruited for the Fraser Health Crisis Line.

The line is the busiest in the province and is answered by volunteer call-takers more than 90 per cent of the time.

The line serves the entire Fraser Health region, which includes Abbotsford.

More volunteers are constantly needed, as demands for the service grow and efforts are made to ensure that coverage continues 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

The crisis line is operated by Options Community Services, which currently runs more than 80 programs and projects, employs approximately 400 people and has as many as 300 volunteers.

No previous experience is needed to become a volunteer with the crisis line, as extensive training and ongoing support are provided.
