Aboriginal Awareness Month kicked off in a big way in Abbotsford on Sunday with the Aboriginal Arts and Culture Day at the Trethewey House Heritage Site in Mill Lake Park.
The free event featured an opportunity for the community to come and learn about Aboriginal arts, culture, history and traditions. Attendees also had the opportunity to watch Aboriginal artists create their work on site and purchase directly from the artist along with storytellers, children’s tent and many more activities.
Food trucks and dozens of vendors were also on hand to celebrate.
