The 11th annual Abbotsford School District Spaghetti Bridge Contest took over the Arts Addition building at the Abbotsford Art Centre on Friday.

Thirteen teams comprised of 45 students representing seven middle schools from around the district took part in the event.

Students were challenged to create bridge structures using spaghetti sticks and glue for approximated two hours and 45 minutes, before the bridges are weighed and then tested for strength.

Abbotsford Middle School 1 earned gold, creating a structure that weighed just 67 grams, and able to hold one pound for 60 seconds. Chief Dan George 1 won silver, and Abbotsford Middle School 2 took home bronze.
