Vibrant Abbotsford launches Harvest Box program

Orders must be placed by noon on Thursday, July 18.

Vibrant Abbotsford has announced the launch of the Abbotsford Harvest Box program.

The public is invited to purchase boxes that contain 10 pounds of at least seven different varieties of fruits and vegetables for $8.

“This exciting initiative seeks to reduce food insecurity by increasing access to fresh, healthy, affordable produce,” said a spokesperson with Vibrant Abbotsford.

The program is open to everyone, and no membership or qualifications are required.

Orders are due the first and second-to-last Thursdays of each month.

The next order deadline is Thursday, July 18 by noon, with pick up on Thursday, July 25 at the Abbotsford Community Services’ Old Courthouse Building on Laurel Street. (The exact time is to be announced.) Orders can be placed online at vibrantabbotsford.ca/harvestbox or in person at the Vibrant Abbotsford office (33355 Bevan Ave.) in the Ron Sweeney Neighbourhood Centre.

Vibrant Abbotsford is an agency focused on reducing poverty in the community.
