Students at Eugene Reimer Middle School celebrated Vaisakhi with a series of performances on Friday morning.
Vaisakhi is a traditional Sikh festival, which celebrates the harvest and marks the beginning of a new solar year.
Students, teachers, family and community members attended the assembly to watch drum performances, traditional dancing, hip hop performances and a Punjabi harvest festival performance.
Students also demonstrated gatka, a traditional form of weapon-based martial arts.
The performances were followed by a Vaisakhi lunch.
