Unifor donates to transition house

Unifor has donated $2,000 to Abbotsford Transition House as part of a total of $100,000

Unifor has donated $2,000 to Abbotsford Transition House as part of a total of $100,000 being donated to similar organizations across Canada in recognition of International Women’s Day (March 8).

Unifor national president Jerry Dias said the donation was made in recognition of the work that staff do at these facilities on behalf of women in their communities.

In addition, Unifor members participated in rallies and discussions across Canada marking International Women’s Day.

Members of Unifor work at shelters and transition houses across the nation. Unifor is Canada’s largest union in the private sector, representing more than 305,000 workers.
