A wide spectrum of health promotion topics will be addressed during an annual health fair this Friday in Abbotsford.
The event, hosted by fourth-year University of the Fraser Valley nursing students, takes place at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. near Dollar Giant.
Students will operate information booths that include: nutrition for teens, benefits of breastfeeding, oral health for caregivers of young children, sun safety for young adults, hypertension for middle-aged adults, benefits of immunizations, child obesity prevention for parents, and binge drinking in young adults.
“People of all ages are encouraged to drop by the health fair and experience the health information the nursing students will be sharing,” said Kate McCulloch, nursing instructor.
“The students are knowledgeable in communicating evidence-informed information in an interesting and meaningful manner. Some displays will include games and prizes."
